Request a document folder
As a first step, please ask our staff to send you a document folder. If you are planning your treatment in a fertility clinic (see link list) that already cooperates with us, please ask them directly for the documents. This contains important information on the procedure for donor sperm treatment and all the documents required for the treatment. In addition to the information material, this also includes contracts and two forms on which you can enter your personal details and wishes so that we can select the best possible donor for you.
Donor Selection
After you have sent us all the documents, we will prepare an individual proposal list with three to six donor profiles matching your selection criteria, within a maximum period of four weeks.
You then select the donor of your choice from our list and inform the Erlanger Samenbank in writing of your decision. The sperm samples, enough for a maximum of three treatments, are sent to your fertility clinic within a period of approximately seven to fourteen working days.
You can order an unlimited number of samples from the same sperm donor, if available.
The Treatment
After receiving the samples, your treatment can begin. The donor sperm samples can be used either for insemination treatment (AID) or for artificial fertilization with IVF or ICSI. Your treating physicians will discuss with you which method is best suited to your personal situation and findings, and will explain the details of the treatment to you in detail.
In the case of insemination with donor sperm, the pregnancy rate is a maximum of 15% to 17% per treatment cycle, depending on the age of the woman up to the age of 40. In the case of artificial fertilization (IVF or ICSI), the pregnancy rate is between 25% and 44% per treatment cycle up to the age of 40. (DIR Yearbook 2022).
